Portraits packages to suit all
As a family photographer I love the opportunity to travel around Swindon and Wiltshire photographing a family with children. Children can be so curious and funny as they discover new things. Often the challenge is to get children to sit and pose for the camera, the answer I find for this is simple. Just let children be children. We often think that a family portrait must be 'sat' for, just like the children do for a school photograph after all that was the way it was always done. It is when the whole family is relaxed though that you get the most natural looking photographs, especially from the children.
I tend to start my children and family sessions going through any 'posed' shots that you may have requested before getting you all to do things that you would do normally. That may be walking along or sitting together, you don't even need to get everyone looking directly at the camera. Personally, I find that a family portrait is not just about the photograph, it is about the memory that the image it inspires. The family laughing together laugh, the look on the children's face, the emotion of the day along with the surroundings all help to create that moment in which your memory was captured as a family portrait. These are all moments that we love to see, and it is a wonderful experience as a photographer to capture those moments in a way that you will be able to treasure for years to come.
